Walking Dead S2 E8 Thoughts

Here are a bit of my thoughts while watching Walking Dead Season 2, Episode 8.

First Segment:
Opening to the conclusion of the massacre. Tensions are heavy and grim. The family’s lives are destroyed and Rick’s group is blown away by what just happened as well as the death of Sophia. Maggie gets points from me for slapping Shane to shut him up (for a second sadly). Carl shows that he is hardened, and it scares his mother. I have to say, Carl’s story is becoming one of the only things driving my interest at the moment. When Shane confronts Dale, it’s hilarious that his conscience is so bad that Dale has to say nothing to make him spill beans all over the place.

Second Segment:
Sad to see Daryl going off the deep end. Hershel’s pain is extremely powerful.  A distraught mother goes into shock.  Hershel disappears and Rick with Glenn go after him.  Just when everything is normal (sorta), Momma Lori runs off to be hero and flips the car… I really dislike her…. badly..

Third Segment:
Rick and Glenn find Hershel drinking away.  Hershel expresses that he finally realizes walkers are really dead.  Wow, Rick for the comment of the season. “nothing has changed.. people have always been dying.. wether it’s heart attack, cancer, walker; what’s the difference?”  Wee~ insert new possible walker bate!!  New people arrive.

Fourth Segment:
At this point, I wonder if Rik realizes the people before him are asking the same thing he asked of Hershel? But it’s not his place to allow others to come to the farm. Ookay.. tension rises as a simple “No” is not what they will accept. Nevermind the new walker bate HAH. Another plus on the Rick meter!  When they reach for their piece to kill Rick, he quick draw kills both of them!

Mid ComicBookMen Preview:
The two Rick killed, really did have friends, and they are looking for them.  Gunfights break out.  Sigh.. more factions of humans fighting eachother in the midst of an apocalypse.. really? I hate this kind of arc..

AMC Website Preview:
Shane and Whinegirl discuss the situation. Apparently Hershel and Rick escaped the bar and got back to the farm, but took a hostage. They explain he may be released after some “carepackaging,” but Shane fears he will find his friends and come back to the farm with vengeance.

In conclusion, I announce the new point system I’ll by tallying of each character. I’ll give points for awesomeness and dock for stupidity. For now, I’ll give each character a clean slate (Even though I despise some already).
—–Walker Points!—–
Rick: 1 Point (+1 for quickdraw action)
Shane: -1 Point (-1 Just leave already)
