Code of Princess Review

October 18, 2012 Leave a comment

Code of Princess was released on the Nintendo 3DS on October 9th in the North American region thanks to the efforts of Atlus.  Originally developed by Agatsuma Entertainment, a Japanese studio, it holds a likeness to the Sega Saturn hit Guardian Heroes. This due in part by the presence of the director of Guardian Heroes, Tetsuhiko Kikuchi. Which in effect grabs my attention greatly, as Guardian Heroes is one of my favorite games of all time. So does Code of Princess hold to the same greatness? Read more…

Most Anticipated Games Of Q4 2012

August 24, 2012 Leave a comment

As the holiday season comes around, we are faced with an onslaught of games delayed or rushed to hit gaming sweet spot. Whether it’s to make the Christmas gift list, to usher in school, or to just make us gamers weep. Noone knows exactly why, but fact is, there’s so much gaming in such a short 4 months. So after looking at my best of 2012 so far, here is a list of my most anticipated games for the remainder of 2012.

Most Anticipated Titles 4th Quarter of 2012:

1. Persona 4: The Golden (Vita) – While we still don’t have any release date, it was slated for this year. Sadly I never got around to playing Persona 4 on the PS2, so I’m very excited to finally get to play this on my Vita. Complete with tons of new content and no shortcomings from the original. It’s looking great.(November?) Read more…

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Review

August 17, 2012 Leave a comment

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is a rhythm game developed by IndiesZero and published by SquareEnix for the Nintendo 3DS system.  It was originally released in February 2012 for Japan, then later brought west in July.  It originally sold for $39.99 USD and only available in cartridge format.  At first glance, this title seems like a cheap attempt to milk Final Fantasy fans of money, but this is a mistake in thought as Theatrhythm is much more than that. Best of 2012 So Far!

August 16, 2012 2 comments

As we pass the middle hump of the year and head into the second half, it’s always fun to look back at the games we played and decide which was the best.  I enjoy making these lists for the entire year, however with this closing season so jam packed, I wanted to make sure I kept the first half in perspective. So here it is, the best games I’ve played in 2012 so far.

1. Gravity Rush – Easily rounding out to be my Game Of The Year for 2012. Gravity Rush managed to shatter the dull of repetitious gaming with a fresh and beautifully crafted idea. Controlling gravity to save a mysterious and dangerous world all while controlling a protagonist that was just lovable. It managed to mend great gameplay, unique concepts, beautiful art style, and fun characters together for a great game. Read more…

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance Review

August 13, 2012 1 comment

The Kingdom Hearts saga has been around for a solid 10 years.  Starting on the Playstation 2 before venturing off into the many facets of handhelds and gadgets.  The recent installment of Dream Drop Distance continues that on the Nintendo 3DS.  Released on July 31st for the North American region, it aims to usher in the long-awaited Kingdom Hearts 3.  So before I degrade into the overdone “Did they DROP the ball?” or “Did it miss the MARK of Mastery?” puns that riddles the internet, let’s get on with the review.

Story
To prepare for the road ahead, Master Yen Sid tasks both Sora and Riku with the goal to train in the Mark of Mastery to be true Keyblade Masters. To do this, they would have to unlock 7 nightmare keyholes holding many of the worlds in a state of limbo. Read more…

Missed the Mark.. of Mastery

July 27, 2012 Leave a comment

The following is a personal post on my upsetting experience trying to acquire the Mark of Mastery version of KH3D.  Don’t expect anything but my griping and perhaps some lessons to be learned.

With the release of Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, Square Enix announced that they would release their Limited Edition Mark of Mastery in the US. For a measly 15 more dollar more than the standard game, this edition comes with extra AR cards, some collectable art cards, and a KH 3DS protector case all in a neat case. To be honest, I was hesitant at first, but eventually I gave in and went to pre-order this over the standard edition. Read more…
