Did VersusXIII Move To PS4?

February 5, 2013 2 comments

ffvxiiiWarning: No statement has been made by Square Enix, this is purely rumor and speculation.

A user on NeoGAF has made some bold claims.  His sources tell him Final Fantasy Versus XIII’s development has been moved to the PS4. Not only that, but that it’s name will be changed and it will be due out in 2014.

While Square Enix has not confirmed, it sort of fits the bill. It would explain the severe lack of information on the game for the last few 2 years. As well as explain even the lack of screenshots as they would reveal next-gen tech. Read more…

Xenogears Review

October 3, 2012 1 comment

It’s not often that you come across a game that truly changes everything.  A game that you get lost in and experience something you want everyone to experience.  Xenogears was one of those games for me when I played it back at its release in 1998.  Squaresoft created an RPG that would combine a deep story, a unique graphical style, and a unique combat system.  Even to this day, I still get lost in it. Before I get too caught up, let me get into the review. Read more…

Gravity Rush Awarded and Sequel Teased

September 21, 2012 Leave a comment

This year at Tokyo Game Show, Gravity Rush earned a Game Of The Year award to which the Director slipped out an interesting tidbit.  He thanked the fans and said that he would “do his best on the sequel!”  Any follow up questioning on it got a sworn secrecy.

So barring a issue in development or costs, this means we will possibly get a sequel and see Kat tearing it up again!  This news has me very excited!  My only fear though is that they may take it to the PS3.  Which isn’t bad, because I’d totally love to play Gravity Rush on the PS3.  However Vita just seems like it’s home, and motion is a huge plus to it’s gameplay.  Hopefully we’ll get some clarification soon.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Coming To PS3

September 20, 2012 Leave a comment

Square Enix looks to launch TGS with a bang.  Announcing that they will be producing an HD collection of Kingdom Hearts for the PS3.  Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix will include HD remastering of Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix, and Re:Chain of Memories.  Also included is theatre versions of remastered scenes from 358/2 Days from the DS.

This brings up questions as to if there will be a Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix with KH2 and Birth By Sleep?  I guess we’ll have to wait and see.  No word on release dates or availability outside Japan yet.

Jet Set Radio HD Is Not Cross-Buy

September 11, 2012 Leave a comment

For those with a Playstation Plus account, the HD version of Jet Set Radio released today for the PS3.  A week in advance and with a dollar off the price tag ($8.99).  Amazing stuff indeed.  However, for those with a Vita, you may be wondering if you’ll be able to download this on your Vita when it comes out.  Well, after searching around and throwing Sega a tweet, it seems it will not be cross buy.  You will have to purchase it for both PS3 and Vita separately.

My Question:

@SEGA If I buy JetSetRadioHD now for PS3 will it be free to download on Vita as well (Crossbuy)? Need to know if I can buy now, or wait.

Reply From Sega:

@Zeruel36 They are separate releases

This is a big bummer, but it seems I’ll be waiting. As hard as it will be. For those on Xbox360, you’ll have another week to wait. For those with Vita, it releases in mid October.

Valkyria Chronicles DLC Price Change

September 5, 2012 Leave a comment

I’m not sure how I missed this tidbit of news.  As of September 4th, all Valkyria Chronicles (PS3) DLC has had their price reduced.  From their standard price of $4.99 down to $2.99!  A couple of these DLCs were well worth the $4.99 price tag, so at $2.99 they are a steal.

For those that don’t know, Valkyria Chronicle DLC are as follows:

  • Selvaria’s Mission “Behind Her Blue Flame” – This DLC is a set of side missions that follows Selvaria’s story leading up to the invasion of Gallia.  Completing these missions unlocks her gun “Ruhm” for use on any game you play.  Great Additional story and fully voiced and scripted.
  • Edy’s Mission “Enter the Edy Detachment” – A side mission featuring the famous Edy and her group of self appointed detachment.  Fun additional character development as well as fully voiced and scripted.  It’s only a single mission through this additional story, however it’s pretty tough as well as has special endings for each rank you achieve.
  • Hard EX Mode – A new difficulty setting for all skirmish maps.  This mode prevents the use of Edlwiese as well as places enemies uniquely on the map in order to test the very fibers of your patience and wit.  Insane difficulty for the most insanely brave.
  • Challenge of the Edy Detachment – This DLC is a set of 6 skirmishes that test the skills of each of the 5 classes as well as the tank.  Many of the enemies in this series of 6 skirmishes will hold some of the most powerful weapons in the game.  Edy along with her group called the Edy Detachment challenge each class with a set mission.  Fully text dialog (not voiced).
